Agents expose Islamic jihad terror cells in U.S.

The director of the Shari’a Mapping project, a work by anti-terrorist and intelligence experts using agents fluent in Farsi, Arabic and Urdu, warns Islamic jihad terror cells are here in America.

David Yerushalmi, president and founder, Society of Americans for National Existence, told PRB News his agents met undercover with terror cell organizers.

Imams and other mosque and Islamic center leaders, when comfortable they are speaking in confidence with an “insider” will open up freely about their efforts to prepare for a future jihad.

“We are sending counterterrorism intelligence experts who speak Arabic, Urdu and Farsi into mosques and Islamic day schools to collect data, to measure adherence to Shari’a or Islamic law, and correlate that with the call for violent jihad,” Yerushalmi said.

“What we are finding is that about 80 percent of the mosques we’ve covered 100 now, out of 2,300, about 80 percent of those mosques have high levels of Shari’a adherence,” he added.

“The call for violent jihad is similarly ranked…We’ve collected enough evidence of cell workings that we’ve gone to local law enforcement and also the federal authorities.”

Yerushalmi said federal authorities could obtain special-conditioned anti-terrorism warrants: evidence is “good enough for judicial warrants because it rises to the level of probable cause.”

The project agents are gathering indications off the streets about the rising strength of Islamic jihad terror cells. Inside information backs that up with sometimes recorded conversation. “Indeed the cell networks are forming and have been forming,” Yerushalmi said.

“I can tell you with a high level of confidence that the Imams out of Tehran have established networks within mosques - built and funded for future action – that we have hard evidence of.”

Despite the evidence, federal authorities are doing nothing. “The federal authorities are what we call brain dead to this issue,” Yerushalmi said.

“While the guys in the field know the problem, higher up at the policy level, they take the view that there is no problem, [or,] that if you nip the bud you’ll solve the problem.”

At local levels, law enforcement leaders are shocked by what they learn through the project, and “scared to death” about what might happen that is totally beyond their ability to deal with.

Yerushalmi hopes the project is destined to demonstrate in clear, factual terms that the threat of violent Islamic jihad and insurrectionist Shari’a Islamism is national, not limited to a few areas.

Nationally recognized terrorism expert endorses Shari’a Mapping project

Frank Gaffney, Center for Security Policy founder, CEO, and former senior advisor to President Ronald Reagan, said the Shari’a mapping project is vital to tracking probable terrorist violence.

He said as agents expose Islamic terror cells in the U.S., Americans gain the opportunity to understand the urgency of acting in response now, before it is too late.

“We hope what will come out of the mapping Shari’a project is the actionable information, information that will give law enforcement agencies probable cause,” Gaffney said to PRB News.

“There is in fact criminal activity taking place,” he added. “If nothing else, sedition, which I believe is what Shari’a Islam is all about.”

Gaffney said his term for Shari’a Islam, to set the ideology apart from Muslim religious groups, is Islamo-fascism. “I happen to think that describes it best,” he said.

Shari’a Islam is an interchangeable term, with the Shari’a reference denoting the ideological nomenclature linked to Islamic Shari’a law and its call for global Islamic dominion.

Mapping Shari’a “is probably the single most important thing that we could be doing to staunch what is otherwise the spreading of the Islamist penetration of the U.S.,” Gaffney said.

Yerushalmi said Islamists quieted their rhetoric after 9-11. “Shari’a Islamic law demands a certain chauvinism…so they still have the films, literature and answer to questions,” he said.

When asked pointed questions about violent jihad coming to America, the imams and Islamic leaders at Islamic centers in the U.S., “give you the hard-line answer,” he said.

“They are wary of FBI informants, but not wary enough. Shari’a Islam demands that they pursue this with every fiber of their being, so they pursue it.”
